Man-of-the-match, Grant Elliott, cracked an undefeated 84 from 73 balls as the Black Caps beat the Proteas by four wickets.

New Zealand got home with one ball to spare at Eden Park in Auckland.

The hosts were set a Duckworth-Lewis calculated victory target of 298 in 43 overs.

Faf du Plessis had earlier top scored for South Africa with 82.

AB de Villiers made 65 not out and David Miller 49 from just 18 balls.

South Africa fluffed two clear run out opportunities and also dropped a catch in the penultimate over.

The man dropped was Elliott and he proceeded to blast a six off the penultimate ball of the match.

The chance he gave was fairly easy, but was complicated by JP Duminy and Farhaan Behardien going for the same ball.

There was also some very good fielding from South Africa at times in Auckland today.
