PHOTO: Wes lands trophy tuna
East Coast Radio Breakfast Stack producer and Fishing Freak, Wes Cruickshanks, recently caught a boss tuna on the KwaZulu-Natal north coast.
Wes used live maasbanker and fought the 27 kiogram tuna for 20 minutes.
He had to press the fish with several large sharks cruising the area.
A friend of his caught and released a 9 kilogram bonito on the same day.
Wes used a Penn Bluewater Carnage Gold Label rod and a Penn Squall reel with 15 kg Berkley Line.
There is talk of a fishing challenge between the Fishing Freaks and the Sportswave team in the very near future - watch this space...
