*Photo* Marlin beaches in Durban

A blue marlin was found on the shore at Vetchies Beach on Tuesday.

The fish weighed around 140kg and had a long-line hook in its throat.

The marlin reached the beach alive, but eventually died.

Several marlin were spotted chasing shad off Vetchies yesterday.

The area has been fishing well for shad lately and it seems the marlin were keen to join anglers in cashing in.
