NOTE - Durban cycling road closures
The 2016 SA National Road, Time Trial and Para-cycling Championships, which is expecting to see some of the country’s biggest names in cycling on the start line, takes place in KwaZulu-Natal from 10-14 February.
The four-day competition will be taking place over five days in two supreme race venues. The Time Trial and the Para-cycling divisions will be hosted in the Wartburg / Noodsburg / Harburg area from 10-12 February, with the Road Races taking place in Westville/ Durban from 13-14 February.
Great cycling stars will be heading to the province with guns blazing to compete for their chance at the “National Champion” title, and well-respected National Champion Jersey.
Road Race organiser, Kelvin du Sart, has ensured that full road closure is in place for Cycling South Africa’s blue-ribbon event to ensure the safety of our cyclists throughout the Championship race. The Race Route will be closed from 03:00 to 15:00 on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 February.
Cycling SA urges residents and motorists to the area to plan alternative routes beforehand.
The 18km loop for the Road Race starts on the M13 Westbound 250m after the Blair Athol off-ramp. Continue on the M13 to where the M13 meets the M13 off-ramp from the N3 and make a U-turn and head back on the M13 Eastbound all the way to 45th Cutting. At the 45th Cutting traffic lights, make a U-turn and head on the M13 Westbound to the start/finish in Westville (18km circuit).

Essex Terrace, University Rd (Westwood Mall) There will be an allocated lane from and to this turn off from Sydenham robot (45th Cutting).
Rockdale Ave, Jan Hofmeyer Rd
No name road (into Glendale Ave) 300meters before Queens Ave and Salisbury Ave turn off.
