Lourens Adriaanse and Kobus van Wyk scored tries for the Sharks at Growthpoint Kings Park.

Cobus Reinach started at scrumhalf against the Kings and admits that the Sharks were not happy with their display.

"Let us say we have put it behind us. It was not the way we wanted to perform. The performance was below par and we will shape up this weekend," Reinach said.

Reinach feels the Sharks had entered the Kings game with the wrong attitude.

"It is about attitude and we let ourselves down. We will make sure it will not happen again. We need to get our mental preparation right and make sure we are up for every game," Reinach added.

The Sharks made several changes to their team for the Kings game and yet Reinach believes this is no excuse for their performance on the day.

"We train as a squad and so changes like that should not influence the performance. We all know the calls and we all know what to do and when to do it. Bottom line is that we performed below par and we will pick up the performance this week," Reinach said.

The Sharks have a Super Rugby date with the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein this coming Saturday. Reinach believes it is difficult to know exactly what to expect from the Cheetahs under head coach Franco Smith.

"They always attack, but now they attack with a few different lines. They don't just go wide to wide. So we really don't know what expect. We do know they will play a lot of attacking rugby," said Reinach.

The Cheetahs have been inconsistent in the early weeks of the Super Rugby season. Reinach believes this is an indication of how tough the competition is.

"We don't have weak teams in the competition any longer. I think the Cheetahs are a great outfit and they have big names. They have a lot of exciting players. So they can bring anything to the party on Saturday," said Reinach.

The Cheetahs lost in Argentina over the past weekend and Reinach is of the opinion that both the Cheetahs and the Sharks will be determined to bounce back this weekend.

"Both teams need to put in a big performance. We are expecting a huge performance from them. We are expeting a big performance from ourselves as well. We need to lift our own standards and we are focusing a lot on our own game this week," Reinach added.

Reinach missed much of last season through injury and is delighted to be fit again.

"Jeepers, I can't put into words how much I am enjoying just playing. After nine months of not playing, I have a lot of energy. It is difficult when you have to watch the game during times of injury. It is great fun playing again and I just want to get out there and enjoy it," Reinach concluded.

Kickoff on Saturday is at 17h15.
