Usain Bolt has won the IAAF male athlete-of-the-year award for a record sixth time. Bolt, winner of nine Olympic gold medals, plans to retire after the World Athletics Championships in London next year.

Almaz Ayana of Ethiopia is the IAAF female athlete-of-the-year for 2016.
Ayana won the 10 000 metres gold medal at the Rio Olympics and set a new world record in doing so.

Multiply Titans have suffered a second successive defeat in the T20 Challenge competition.
The Warriors beat the Titans by six wickets in Centurion last night.
Colin Ackermann top scored for the Warriors with 53, while Colin Ingram made 50 for the winners.
Andrew Birch bowled well for the Warriors at Supersport Park.
Birch claimed five for 16.
David Wiese hit 36 for the home side.
The Lions beat the Knights by 20 runs in the other T20 Challenge match last night.
Nicky van den Bergh cracked 57 for the Lions.
Durban will host two T20 Challenge matches tomorrow.
The Lions and Warriors will contest the early game, while the second match will feature Hollywoodbets Dolphins and the Cobras.

The Blitzboks will face New Zealand in their quarter-final match at the Dubai Sevens.
The match is scheduled for 10h06 this morning.

Tiger Woods has carded a second round 65 at the Hero World Challenge.
Woods is six shots off the lead.
Louis Oosthuizen is best of the South African golfers.
Oosthuizen, who fired a second round 67, is only two strokes behind leaders Dustin Johnson and Hideki Matsuyama.

Cape Town City have edged Bidvest Wits 3-2 in the Absa Premiership.
Lebogang Manyama scored twice for the Cape Town club in Johannesburg.
City are four points clear of both Wits and Supersport United at the top of the log.
Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Golden Arrows are all on the Premiership menu today.

Chelsea remain without the injured John Terry for their English Premiership date with Manchester City this afternoon.
City are still without Vincent Kompany, but they have Fabian Delph back in contention.

Arsenal have doubts about the fitness of Olivier Giroud for their league clash with West Ham United this evening.
The Gunners are definitely without both Santi Cazorla and Mathieu Debuchy.
Liverpool appear set to sell Mamadou Sakho during the January transfer window.
Jurgen Klopp has made it clear that Sakho does not feature in his plans.
Liverpool have an English Premiership assignment at Bournemouth tomorrow.
