Caster Semenya has won the 400-metres at the Diamond League meeting in Brussels. Semenya clocked a personal best in beating a field including Olympic bronze medalist Shericka Jackson.
Semenya was not the only South African to win in Brussels last night.
Her compatriot, Luvo Manyoga, claimed victory in the men's long jump.
SA surfer, Jordy Smith, will face Kai Otton in round three of the Hurley Pro in California.
Kelly Slater has a third round date with Jack Freestone, while Mick Fanning will meet Stuart Kennedy in his third round heat.
Adriano de Souza was eliminated in the second round at Trestles.
Novak Djokovic and Stanislas Wawrinka will contest the men's singles final at the US Open tomorrow.
Djokovic defeated Gael Monfils 6-3 6-2 3-6 6-2 in the semi-finals.
Wawrinka beat Kei Nishikori 4-6 7-5 6-4 6-2 in the other semi-final in New York.
The Lions are fourth in the Currie Cup standings.
They are two points clear of the Blue Bulls and two points behind both Griquas and the Cheetahs.
The Lions outscored Western Province 58-32 in Johannesburg last night.
