Messi and Benzema up and running

Messi found the back of the net to give Argentina a 2-1 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina in their opening Group F match.

Benzema initially thought he had completed his hatrick, this until the goal-line technology was employed, it turned out one of his goals were ruled out and given as an own goal.

France completed a 3-0 win over Honduras in their Group E clash.

The other result from yesterday saw Switzerland score a late winner against Ecuador. The final score was 2-1 in favour of the Swiss.

The action continues today, it's Cristiano Ronaldo's chance to shine as Portugal take on Germany in Group G.

African hopes Nigeria and Ghana are also on display, the Super Eagles meet Iran and the Black Stars clash with the United States.
