"It was an emotional day for me at the Argus. I really wanted to win the race badly and it was great to be on the podium and to dedicate the victory to both Burry and my gran. I wanted to show that I mean business on the bike and to show that I am living and getting on with my life," Stander said.
She will be competing at the Absa Cape Epic later this month. Stander said it is an event she enjoys, but that the Epic is not her main goal for the year.
"I am targeting the SA Marathon Championships and the World Championships in Pietermaritzburg in June. These are really big events for me and I am really looking forward to both," Stander revealed.
