The Sharks and Lions have both won four of their five starts this season.

The Lions are two points clear of the Sharks in the Africa Conference 2 standings.

Veteran Sharks winger, Lwazi Mvovo, has been impressed with the Lions this season.

"They are playing flippin well and made the final last year. So a very good side and there is no way we can under-estimate them. It is up to us and we are pretty much looking at our own gameplan. The focus is on ourselves. Winning in Johannesburg is never easy, but we are going up there to win," Mvovo said.

The Sharks have won South African derbies against both the Cheetahs and the Kings this season. Mvovo believes those games are in the past and not of much relevance this week.

"We take it a week at a time and try to concentrate on our own game. Obviously, we do pay attention to our mistakes and try to rectify them going forward," Mvovo added.

The Lions have an impressive record in Johannesburg. However, Mvovo believes each game is a new challenge.

"We have a bad record there, but I think it is a new ball game. There are new coaches and new youngsters who have come into the system. These youngsters are not scared to play. We will be going up there to play our game and focus on our own issues," Mvovo said.

Curwin Bosch has played both fullback and flyhalf for the Sharks this season and has been impressive. Mvovo feels the 19-year-old is a very versatile player.

"You could probably pick him at centre and still get a good game out of him (laughs). Look he is taking his chances very well. He is very mature for a youngster. He has shown this maturity both on and off the field. We are just happy that he is playing well and we are behind him the whole time," Mvovo concluded.

Kickoff in Johannesburg on Saturday is at 17h15 in the afternoon.
