Local surfski paddling star Danica Bartho is training hard to take on the challenge of being the first woman to paddle the 162km stretch from Richards Bay to Durban in support of her close friend Lettie fighting cancer!

Lettie Heynes is fighting cancer like a true legend and to honour this Danica wants to raise funds to support Lettie with her fight with cancer.

Danica aims to cover the 162kms in just 4 days starting on:

30th October – Richards Bay to Mtunzini 40km

31st October - Mtunzini to Zinkwazi 48km

1 November - Zinkwazi to Salt rock 32km

2 Nov - Salt rock - Pirates in Durban 42km

All the money raised will go to help Lettie with her medical bills. Danica also said that at the end of the day she wants to show people that if she can do the 'impossible' all on her own then they can too and they should never stop fighting cancer, even if it is against all odds!

If you are interested in sponsoring a km or two or finding out more please mail [email protected] or find the Lettie Paddle page on facebook.

Weatherwise in Durban we can expect a high of 26 degrees today with clear skies and Northerly winds at first which will swing to light variables later.
