Anglers are enjoying success on the Bluff beaches.
Some of the smaller kingfish species are taking artificial lures in the early morning, while small shad and a few pompano have been landed on the Bluff recently.
The early morning sessions at Toti and Warner Beach have produced small shad and anglers targeting the banks have had success with pompano.
Winkelspruit is producing small shad and many of these have been used as live bait in a bid to catch early garrick. This is definitely an area to watch in the coming weeks.
An angler at Umkomaas landed a decent grunter of just over four kilograms near the mouth recently. Chokka was used as bait. The ledges to the left, which usually produce flatfish at this time of the year, have been fairly quiet.
Its going to be a beautiful day in Durban with Monday temperatures ranging from 14-24 degrees. We are expecting clear skies and westerly winds of 19 km/hr – there could be a nice wave for surfers today.
