Kingfish biting in Durban harbour

Kingfish action in Durban harbour

Durban harbour has been fishing relatively well and anglers who have spent time along the banks would have been rewarded with at least a couple of good sized grunter. For those who enjoy fishing for inedibles, there have been a good number of flatfish on the banks too.

They have been eating cracker shrimp, as well as bigger red-eye baits.

The kingfish seem to have disappeared from the banks over the last week with only one or two being landed earlier on in the week by an angler casting small Strike Pro diving lures around the Yacht Moll.

Large shoals of mullet have been seen around BAT Centre and Wilson's Wharf, with a lot of activity around them, which may be kingfish or garrick.

Closer to the piers anglers with boat access will be happy to know that there are plenty of larger kingfish hunting in the area and are readily taking lures.
