Jordy wins early at Bells Beach
Durban surfer, Jordy Smith, has won his first round heat at the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach.
Smith defeated Keanu Asing and Adrian Buchan to secure direct progress to round three.
Other first round winners in Australia include Kelly Slater, Gabriel Medina and Jeremy Flores.
Mick Fanning had to settle for second behind Mason Ho in his opening heat at Bells.
This is the second leg of the 2015 Samsung Galaxy World Championship Tour.
Jordy Smith is ninth in the standings and is the only South African on the elite tour this year.
