Joel Parkinson and Mick Fanning are both through to the quarter-finals.
Bells Beach is the third stop of the elite World Championship Tour.
Durban surfer, Travis Logie, was eliminated in the second round.
Bianca Buitendag is still involved in the ladies contest at Bells Beach.
The South African will meet Lakey Peterson in fourth round action.
Buitendag is fourth in the world championship standings.
