Matsatsantsa defeated the KZN side 1-0 in an Absa Premiership encounter played at the Harry Gwala Stadium last Saturday, largely thanks to thanks to the in-form Jeremy Brockie's well taken strike.

The Zimbabwean international said coach Gordon Igesund told them to chase maximum points as they started the game beneath the Team of Choice on goal difference.

''It was a must win game for us. The coach told us before the game started that Maritzburg are above us on the log by goal difference,'' said Nkhatha.

''He told us that if we manage to win the game we'll go above them on the log and we did that and now we are above them. The three points won on the day will be very vital because it will put us further away from Maritzburg,'' he said.

A win for Igesunds troops sent them into the seventh spot on the log while Maritzburg were left occupying ninth position with only six games remaining.

They will be looking to keep their winning momentum going when they face Golden Arrows in the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals at the Peter Mokaba Stadium this coming Saturday.
