Home wins crucial: Lambie
Updated | By Benedict Ngwenya
The Sharks will host the Toyota Cheetahs in Vodacom SupeRugby action on Saturday with Lambie saying that victory has to be the goal.
"In this competition there are no easy games. So it's vital that you take advantage of your home games and the first game of the season. I think everyone will be out to get a positive result to build some momentum and some confidence and it's no different for us," he said.
Heinrich Brussouw will not be playing for the Cheetahs this weekend.
However, Lambie says they will remain difficult opponents.
"They always play as a team, which I guess has been their strength over the years. It doesn't matter what the personnel is. They seem to enjoy playing against the Sharks, so we will definitely have our work cut out for us," he continued.
Lambie is part of a Sharks leadership group also featuring Bismarck du Plessis, Frans Steyn and Tera Mtembu.
The flyhalf says leadership depth is very useful in SupeRugby.
"It's all non-stop. We don't have a break in June anymore, week in and week out. No easy games, very physical, very fast. So, it's going to be a squad that wins the competition. It's not going to be a team of 15 players. That being said, it's very important to have more than one leader out on the field. I think everyone of us will get a chance, possibly to captain on a day or look after the forwards or the backs depending on the position," he added.
Kickoff on Saturday is at 17h05.
