All Blacks coach, Steve Hansen, says he has great respect for Heyneke Meyer and that he considers Meyer a great man.

Hansen believes that regardless of the result in Auckland on Saturday, he will enjoy a beer with the Springbok coach after the Castle Rugby Championship match at Eden Park.

"I also expect to do the same over in South Africa. This is what rugby is all about," Hansen added. "The contest is fierce out on the paddock, but what really lasts are the friendships you build over the years."

Hansen has picked Sam Cane as replacement for injured skipper Richie McCaw.

Hansen says Cane must focus on what he does well and must not worry about comparisons.

"Sam has been in the All Blacks fold for a while now and is ready. He is a great athlete and has the necessary mental perspective. Coming in for McCaw is by no means an easy job, because you are compared to him all the time," Hansen said.

Kickoff on Saturday is at 09h35 in the morning - South African time.

The Sharks play at 15h00 this Saturday. They have an Absa Currie Cup date with Griquas in Kimberley.

The Sharks coaching trio was today given the Coach of the Month award, while Cheslin Kolbe of Western Province was named Absa Currie Cup Player of the Month.
