Speckled snappers are being landed in and around Kosi Bay, although the area has been disappointing for anglers targeting non-edibles.
The water at Tugela has been clear of late and those lucky enough to take a break outside of the popular holiday periods should definitely fish this area. Early morning sessions and late afternoons are probably the best fishing times as we move now closer to winter. Meanwhile, at St Lucia it has been very promising to see larger numbers of shad. Small kingfish have also been caught amongst the shad.
The next Dolphin Mile Surf Swim is coming up this Sunday - 21 April. For more information please visit www.dolphinmile.co.za
It promises to be a chilly, wet day in Durban today with a maximum temperature of 18 degrees and an 80% chance of rain. We have SSW winds blowing at 19km/hr with more rain predicted for Saturday and Sunday.
The swell is supposed to pick up over the course of the weekend and with strong SW winds forecast the Durban beachfront will be the best bet for surfers.
