Gary Gold finds himself in trouble with SANZAAR
Updated | By Sky Tshabalala
Cell C Sharks director of rugby Gary Gold will be appearing before a SANZAAR judicial hearing for allegedly behaving in an untoward manner.
The Southern Hemisphere rugby governing body today confirmed it had completed an investigation into the alleged conduct of Gold during the Sharks’ Super Rugby clash against the Crusaders in Durban on 26 March.
SANZAAR has referred the matter for a hearing in accordance with its disciplinary rules.
The matter will be heard by SANZAAR judicial officer Nigel Hampton via teleconference this morning.
“SANZAAR will be making no further comment until this process has been completed,” the organisation said via a press release issued this morning.
The Sharks, meanwhile, have received massive injury boost ahead of their Vodacom Super Rugby clash against the Emirates Lions on Saturday.
Lwazi Mvovo , Etienne Oosthuizen and Daniel du Preez have all recovered from knocks picked up against the Crusaders and will be available for selection.
Loose-forward Philip van der Walt picked up a neck injury against the men from New Zealand and will miss the Lions clash.
The Sharks are currently second in the combined South African conference - two points behind the DHL Stormers.
