Garrick in the Durban silt canal
Updated | By Staff Writer

Plenty of reports of garrick around the Coaling Wharf have come from various anglers who spent time on the water in the harbour last week.
Shad have been plentiful in the bay and it is becoming relatively easy to obtain a few as live baits for the garrick.
Sabiki bait rigs with sardine chunks work wonders around the rocks near the coaling dumper.
Grunter have been on the bite further up the silt canal and off the centre banks as well.
Some decent kingfish were landed on Strike Pro shallow diving lures in the silt canal.
This spot has also produced pickhandle barracuda and a garrick.
