Garrick caught at north coast

The North coast has seen some very good catches of Garrick, these fish are still being targeted right on the backline with live baits.

Reports have also been come in of some nice sized Daga Salmon. Most of these fish are being hooked at sunset.

The Central KZN coast area has produced some big Yellowfin Tuna, although they not in great numbers. The deep wrecks are also good to Skippers that are night-rated in the form of Geelbek and Daga, either on whole Sardines or fresh live baits.

There are still some Snoek around on the mid-south coast although the few that have been caught have fallen to either fillet or spoon, especially in the early mornings.

The bottom fishing has also been good, with some Geelbek at night and the odd Musselcracker – all of these fish have been caught on live baits.

It’s going to be a hot and sunny Friday in Durban with temperatures going up into the 30’s. Light winds this morning will be replaced by onshores this afternoon.

Saturday sees a change with a SW buster, which will bring cooler weather and the possibility of some light rain for Saturday afternoon and Sunday. It’s not all gloomy news for the weekend though because there should be an increase in the swell size for surfers!
