So our KZN clubs dominated the top spots and our juniors did exceptionally well too. Well done to all of our lifesavers that took part and thank you for the amazing and often thankless work that you do on our beaches.

To all of our holidaymakers please remember to pay attention to instructions from lifeguards on duty as they have your best interests at heart.

To help prevent any Easter holiday tragedies please only swim at beaches where lifeguards are on duty and remember to stay between the flagged beacons at all time.

There are heaps of events coming up over the next few days including the Cell C Teen Fusion U18 Party at the WaveHouse, Vodacom Easter Fever at Margate and Ballito, the Durban Beachfront Shore Fishing Festival, the Hibberdene Ski Boat Club Couta Classic and the Mtwalume Ski Boat Club Easter Gamefish competition.

Durbanites are in for temperatures ranging from 20 – 29 degrees, it’s going to be misty this morning becoming partly cloudy with a 30% chance of showers and thundershowers thisevening.

The week of onshores continues with NE’s blowing up to 28 km/hr so once again the sea is going to be choppy and rough – not great for bathers, surfers and boat launches, although if the wind is strong enough a few kitesurfers may be out doing their thing.
