The Proteas have beaten Sri Lanka by eight wickets in the first one-day international. South Africa reached their victory target of 182 in the 35th over in Port Elizabeth.

Hashim Amla top scored for the Proteas with 57, while Faf du Plessis made 55 not out.
Imran Tahir had earlier bowled superbly for South Africa.
Tahir claimed three for 26 in his ten overs.
Tahir was named man-of-the-match.
This was the first of five one-day internationals.
Durban will host the second ODI this coming Wednesday.

Justin Ontong has made 110 for the Cobras in Sunfoil Series action against the Titans.
David Wiese took five for 41 for the Titans in the match in Centurion.

The Springboks will face France in their quarter-final at the Wellington Sevens.
The Boks advanced as winners of Pool B earlier today.
The Boks won all three their Pool B games against Japan, Australia and Fiji.
Seabelo Senatla has now scored 176 tries and is three short of the South African record held by Fabian Juries.

Serena previously shared the record with Steffi Graf.
Serena beat sister, Venus Williams, 6-4 6-4 in the Australian Open final earlier today.
It was their 28th meeting and Serena has now defeated Venus 17 times.
Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal will contest the men's final at the Australian Open tomorrow.
Nadal has won 23 of their 34 meetings to date.

Liverpool are out of the FA Cup.
Wolves have beaten the Reds 2-1 at Anfield.

Divock Origi scored the only Liverpool goal.
