Durban surf contest postponed
Updated | By Andre Bloem
Organizers of the Quiksilver Goodwave surfing event have decided to put the event on hold for this week.
Surfers and surfing fans can check the website www.goodwave.co.za for updates.
Meanwhile, Durban surfers are invited to the Winter Surf Swap which will give surfers and collectors the opportunity to swap surf-related material such as surfboards, surf paraphernalia or simply show off boards of any description to like-minded enthusiasts.
This is the second event, after the success of the first one which was held in January, that saw vintage surf magazines, boards, fins and hand planes swapped and sold.
One man’s junk is another man’s treasure.
The event will take place on 6 June 2013 from 5.30 – 9pm. For more information you can call Sam on 082 573 0919.
It promises to be a lovely warm day in Durban with a maximum temperature of 26 degrees and clear skies predicted for Thursday. You can expect WNW winds of up to 28 km/h. Some big swell is expected to move in today and will peak at over 3m at 16 seconds. That is the word from Windguru.
