Durban Heat dealt another weather blow

Following consistent torrential rain throughout the week, the Mzansi Super League match between the Durban Heat and the Paarl Rocks at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium was abandoned without a ball being bowled on Friday.

The unprecedented rains that have lashed the East Coast over the past five days meant that the outfield was too wet for play and the umpires were forced to call the game off.

That is the second game on the bounce that the Heat has lost to the elements and will take a further two points into their third game on Sunday.

Sunday's clash will see the Heat face last year’s losing finalists the Cape Town Blitz in Durban.

The Blitz currently sit on top of the MSL log with two wins and a loss from their three games so far in the competition.

The Blitz put in an impressive performance against the Jozi Stars on Thursday at Newlands when they beat the defending champions by 15 runs.

The Heat will be keen to get themselves on the board properly on Sunday against a strong Cape Town side.
