Durban boxer ready to defend world title

Fighting on home soil is what's motivating current Flyweight International Boxing Organisation Champion Moruti "Baby-face" Mthalane and he says he will retain his title this weekend at Durban's ICC.

Mthalane, from Lindelani north of Durban, will be defending his title against Mexican Odilon Zaleta who has won 15 out of his 19 fights.

Mthalane on the other hand has only lost two out of his 32 fights and says records mean nothing to him, it is all about a good fight at the end of the day.

"He's a good boxer. I've watched most of his fights, he's very good so I am not underestimating him at all.  Sometimes records [don't] count that much so I'm looking forward to fighting Zaleta. His loses don't matter; I'm ready for him."

"Because I'm fighting at home, everybody is expecting me to win so they are putting me under pressure but for sure I'm going to win," he said.
