The Proteas have been dismissed for 489 on day one of their two-day match against a South Australia XI. South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first in Adelaide.
Dean Elgar retired out of 117, while Faf du Plessis retired out on 102.
Quinton de Kock was dismissed for 99 and Temba Bavuma for 43.
Vernon Philander retired out on 41.
Stephen Cook was out for a duck, Hashim Amla nine and Rilee Rossouw 22.
Keshav Maharaj cracked 24 from 19 deliveries.
