Dolphins without Dupavillon

Sunfoil Dolphins will look to upset Australian team, Perth Scorchers, when they open their Champions League Twenty20 challenge in India tomorrow.

The men from Durban will be without the explosive David Miller, who is currently playing for Indian Premier League (IPL) outfit Kings XI Punjab in the same tournament.

Yesterday Kings XI Punjab were too good for the Hobart Hurricanes, as they beat them by 5 wickets in the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali, Chandigarh.

However, it was not the best of days for Miller as he was dismissed without scoring.

The Dolphins boast a well-balanced bowling attack, spearheaded by paceman Kyle Abbott, while the batting is still impressive despite Miller’s absence with captain Morne van Wyk being the focal point at the top of the order.

The Dolphins surprised many pundits by winning last season’s premier South African domestic T20 tournament, but the victory proved to the squad that they have what it takes to compete with the best in the business. With that said, I believe they have what it takes to impress in the CLT20.

The Dolphins will be without Daryn Dupavillon against the Scorchers tomorrow. Du Pavillon is still nursing a hand injury.

Meanwhile, the Cape Cobras will begin their CLT20 campaign this afternoon when they take on the Northern District at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur.

The Dolphins will be in action at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali, Chandigarh.

Kickoff is at 12h30 in the afternoon South African time.

Dolphins squad:

Morne van Wyk (capt), Kyle Abbott, Craig Alexander, Cody Chetty, Cameron Delport, Daryn Dupavillion, Robbie Frylinck, Keshav Maharaj, Sibonelo Makhanya, Andile Phehlukwayo, Daryn Smit, Prenelan Subrayen, Jonathan Vandiar, Vaughn van Jaarsveld, Khaya Zondo.
