Decent pier fishing in Durban

The latest Kingfisher report says that a lovely shad of just over 2 kilograms was caught at Blue Lagoon recently.
Durban pier fishing has definitely improved lately with small grunter, juvenile skates, shad and milk sharks taking baits.
Well done to surfers Dan Redman and Tasha Mentasti for winning the Scottburgh Powerplay Surf Pro at the UGU South Coast Tourism Africa Marine Expo on Sunday.
Team Half a Dozen won the Deep Sea Catch & Release Angling event thanks to the efforts of Rob Gemmell, Chris Gemmell, Cameron Gemmell and Shaun Peacock.
In the junior Catch & Release angling event, young Kelsey Pretorius cleaned up catching a total of 11 fish and 8 species.
We are in for another gorgeous day on the beach in Durban with clear skies, a maximum temperature of 24 degrees and NNW winds this morning swinging to NEs later.
