Debut looms for Usuthu new recruit
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
Were has been watching from the sidelines as Usuthu struggled and failed to register a single Absa Premiership victory since the 2014/2015 campaign began last month.
Were says he will do his best to help the team and make sure they bounce back from the relegation zone.
''For me to come in now is a big opportunity, I think all that's needed of me is to give my best and make sure I work together with the team and hopefully we'll win as a team because that's the only thing that matters.
I think this break has given us a chance to correc our mistakes and see where our weaknesses are. Through these friendly matches that we've been playing I think our combinations have improved and finishing the chances we create,'' Were said on the club's website.
The 23-year-old is confident the Durban based club will improve and believe they will come off victorious on their next encounter.
''We now have to play according to the coach's instructions and work as a team, I'm a hundred percent sure we are going to win on Saturday. I think the team has been doing alright, defending good but from what I've seen it's just maybe a little lapse in concentration, at crucial moments that's why we've been conceding goals, but overall the team has been playing good,'' he said.
Usuthu are currently rock bottom on the PSL log, they have only managed to pick up two points from five matches.
The Durban based club will visit Polokwane City on Saturday at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 18h00.
