What a wonderful week leading up to this fixture. I got to interview Thomas Du Toit, aka “The Tank” and chatting to him really energised me.

I also managed to chat to Lwazi Mvovo and he adds maturity and stability to the squad with his Bok experience.

I really hope that he gets called to the squad for end of year tour.

I ended off the week receiving my Smart ID from the Minister of Home Affairs, together with John Smit and Tera Mthembu. Wonderful day.

Words like dead-rubber, no brainer etc, were used to describe this fixture. Coetzee, WP head coach, made a total of 11 changes to his starting line-up and fielded his so called “B” side! Now, quite frankly, with a side that includes Brok Harris and Kurt Coleman, we are still looking for the “B” in the side!

The boys started with a bang, with Sbura showing his Blitzbokke form in scoring the first try in the second minute of the game. The pace that he showed to outrun WP was incredible. WP knuckled down and it became a very physical battle after that. Forwards were excellent. I am extremely pleased with our set-piece. We need to work on the number of turnovers we conceded, otherwise, very pleased overall. We went into half time behind on the score board  and the boys came back with a bang. They made the right decisions and put pressure on WP in the right areas. It is never easy to win in Newlands and recognition needs to be given to the boys for this win.  As my darling Tera so very rightly said, sometimes you need to win ugly. Well done to my darlings and congratulations to my Captain Fantastic for another Man of the Match performance.

Onwards to the Semi-finals my darling, mwah!
