Keegan Daniel has been named Cell C Sharks captain for the Absa Currie Cup season. No current Springboks have been included in the Sharks squad at this stage.

This means there is no Coenie Oosthuizen, Lwazi Mvovo, Patrick Lambie or Tendai Mtawarira in the mix.
This could change if those players are not picked for the Rugby Championship campaign.

Players who are in the Sharks squad include Lukhanyo Am, Curwin Bosch, Jean Deysel, Tera Mtembu, Innocent Radebe and both Du Preez brothers.

The Sharks squad reads as follows:

The Sharks have an Absa Currie Cup date in Nelspruit this Friday night.

The Sharks will face the Pumas in a match set to start at 19h20.

More rugby news is that the Castle Murray Cup quarter-finals have been decided.

UKZN Impi defeated Jaguars 22-15, Durban Collegians edged College Rovers 23-21 and Toti beat Crusaders 31-17.

The remaining quarter-final saw Varsity College advancing with a 25-18 victory over South Coast Warriors.
