Murray defeated Michael Llodra 6-2 6-4 6-3.

Chanelle Scheepers is scheduled for second round action at Flushing Meadow today.

Scheepers has a date with sixth seed Caroline Wozniacki.

Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are also on the Thursday menu.

Venus Williams lost in the second round yesterday.
