Coenie praise for Lambie
Updated | By Andre Bloem
Coenie Oosthuizen admires Cell C Sharks captain Patrick Lambie.
Listen to the full interview below, or read the story underneath the podcast.
Oosthuizen believes that in Lambie the Sharks have a formidable leader.
"We have an experienced captain. I think he is one of the best captains in SupeRugby. I believe he makes the right decisions at the right time. We as a team must and do back his decisions 100%. It may at times look like he is consulting us, but Pat has a fairly good idea of what he wants. He is clear-headed," Oosthuizen said.
The Sharks scored a late try to win 27-22 in Canberra last weekend.
Oosthuizen feels it is a big win for the team.
"That win was something special. It has generated a great deal of belief. We now have to build on that momentum, because the SupeRugby season is long and it is a helluva competition," Oosthuizen added.
Oosthuizen feels that lessons were leant in the Sharks' opening loss to the Reds.
"The Reds attacked our breakdown. That meant that we didn't have quick ball and so we couldn't attack. We knew what went wrong in Brisbane and managed to fix it for the Brumbies game," Oosthuizen said.
Oosthuizen believes the Sharks are team with an attacking philosophy.
"Our mindset is to play an attacking brand of rugby. We knew that we were going to play attacking rugby in Canberra. We went into the game determined not to repeat the mistakes made in Brisbane. We felt that we had left something out there against the Reds," Oosthuizen concluded.
