City Champions, Atletico wait

Manchester City have been crowned as English Champions for the second time in three seasons.

City needing only a draw to win the Barclays Premier League yesterday defeated Westham 2-0 to claim the title.

Manuel Pellegrini's men finished two points clear of the second placed Liverpool who bagged all three points against Newcastle at Anfield.

The Merseysiders will play Champions League football next season, along with City, Chelsea and Arsenal.

In Spain, Real Madrid's title hope are over, Madrid suffered a 2-0 loss at Celta Vigo in a must win La Liga outing.

Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are the only teams in contention, both teams drew their respective matches yesterday.

Barca and Atletico will clash in the decider at the Camp Nou on Saturday.
