The Final score after regulation time was 5-5 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday afternoon..

The Liverpool greats were quick off the blocks in the first half taking a 3-1 lead at halftime, a first half brace from Patrick Berger put the Amakhosi greats on the back foot from the get go.

In the second half Chiefs came out a completely different team, coming from 3-1 down to level the score at 3-3, from there on it was anybodies game, both teams created numerous goal scoring opportunities.

There where many moments of brilliance from both teams, Doctor Khumalo showcased great individual skill to score a wonderful goal after the interval, Stanton Federicks always looked likely to score, when his splendid curler found the back of the net in the second half, while Robbie Fowler and Steve Mcmanaman made soccer look easy with quality passes and control.

Patrick Berger led the Reds attack with four goals, while Stanton Fredericks got a brace to inspire the Soweto giants veterans.

Jared Ayres CEO of IPP Group, the sponsors of the Liverpool Tour of South Africa said the trip was successful and he sees no reason why the Merseyside greats will not be back again in 2014.
