Cardboard boat racing in Durban
Updated | By Andre Bloem
The Durban International Boat and Lifestyle Show will host Coca-Cola Cardboard Boat Racing. This will take place at the Durban Marina on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 June.
It’s really easy - all you have to do is construct your own boat using two items - cardboard and duct tape.
This year there are three races, the first is a closed event for budding boat-building students on Saturday. Two races will be held on Sunday and both will be open to all members of the public. For more info visit: http://www.durbanboatshow.co.za or call 031 266 9828.
Don’t forget the Mr Price Pro Ballito international surfing event starts on Monday. There will be a surfboard shaper evening on Wednesday and free music concerts on the beach on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
It’s going to be a chilly day in Durban today with a minimum of 11 degrees and a maximum of 19 Celsius. You can expect light southerly winds and there is a 60% chance of rain. There could be a fun 3-foot wave again for surfers on the Durban beachfront - just remember to pack your wetsuit.
