The contracts of eight Bulls players have expired, the union said in a statement released earlier today.
The players would no longer be available for the Currie Cup competition, which starts in August, and would be joining their new clubs abroad.
The departing players were Juandrè Kruger, Jacques Potgieter, Dewald Potgieter, Chiliboy Ralepelle, Jano Vermaak, Mornè Steyn, Zane Kirchner and Wynand Olivier.
"We would like to wish them well in the next chapter of their new careers," said Blue Bulls CEO Barend van Graan. "These players all became Springboks at the Blue Bulls, which speaks volumes of how much impact they had in our structures and teams. Many of them also represented us at schoolboy level for the first time and have been true servants to the Blue Bulls and Bulls cause. We could like to salute their effort and say thank you."
