Brussow has indicated that he will not be extending his contract with the Cheetahs after this year’s Super Rugby competition.

He will only be available for his Japanese club, the Docomo Red Hurricanes, in 2016 and 2017.

Brussow joined the Red Hurricanes in 2013, but returned to play Super Rugby for the Cheetahs every year.

Brussow is currently sidelined with an arm injury and won’t feature in the final stages of this year’s Super Rugby competition.

He will be available for Springbok selection though, should coach Heyneke Meyer call on his services.

The 28-year-old first signed a senior contract with the Cheetahs in 2005, his first year after school.

Meanwhile, it is believed that the Cheetahs have already signed a three-year deal with Shimlas flank Tienie Burger to serve as a replacement for Brussow.
