North Coast - Fished well over the weekend, with weather conditions not being as bad as predictions indicated. Sunday saw the westerly come through only hours after it was forecasted to move over, which meant that anglers could fish the morning session in pre- frontal conditions before the wind hit. Maphelane did not see too much activity over the weekend, but had decent catches of Natal snoek, tuna and a few couta throughout the week. Cape Vidal was kind to the jetski anglers who caught some lovely snoek and tuna on the inside. Charter boats around St Lucia did well with the smaller tuna and also couta.

Central Coast - Kayak anglers did very well on the bait marks fishing for tuna, one of which tipped the scales at 27.7kg.  Smaller fish around the 5-7kg mark were plentiful and most kayak anglers and skiboaters got in on the action. Snoek went off the bite early in the week and the few that were caught lacked size. Although the snoek lacked size, the geelbek and daga were in full force and some very large fish were boated on the deep marks. General bottoms were caught over the weekend before the wind picked up, but with most anglers targeting the bigger salmon species, few reports came through of decent catches.

South Coast - Wahoo have still been sharpening their teeth on skiboaters steel traces and getting away with it. The few that have been landed have been over 15kg and extremely aggressive. There are plenty of bonito in the water and these wahoo have gorged themselves to the gullet which has meant that the fights are lasting extra long. Be sure to use adequate tackle for the job. Tuna around Shelly Beach have been around 7kg and took anything from Rattlers to Konas. For the bottom fisherman, the reds were plentiful and a good number of musselcracker were landed in between.
