Big fishing off Port Edward

Port Edward on the KZN south coast is due to host a major fishing competition next month.

The Marlin Ski Boat Club Cuda Classic will take place on 15 and 16 June 2013 at the Port Edward Marlin Ski Boat Club.

If you enter before the end of the month the cost is R650 per angler, but from 1 June the price goes up to R750 per angler.

First prize is for the biggest cuda.

There are also prizes for top lady and junior anglers.

The winner leaves the beach with a Yamaha seacat with Yamaha motors - in total the prizes are valued at over R350 000.

It is going to be another fine day on our beaches with temperatures ranging from 15– 25 degrees, clear skies and light NW winds peaking at 9 km/hr.

There is a little bit of swell around and surfers should try to make the most of it as the swell will back off a bit over the next few days.
