Benedict predicts Bafana victory

Bafana Bafana will lock horns with Congo Brazzaville at 20h05 tonight in what might prove to be a match that sees them qualifying for the 2015 Africa Nations Cup finals in Morocco.

Bafana top the Group A standings with 7 points, followed by Congo with 6.

Bafana recently recorded a 2-0 victory over their tonight's opponents in Pointe Noire and complacency might be a threat to their chances of success tonight.

Congo showed signs of being an attack-minded side that likes to pump a lot of balls into the opposition's danger area, but I feel the current Bafana squad is stronger. The midfield combination of Andile Jali and Dean Furman is key. Both players possess both defensive and offensive attributes. They have a good understanding of each other and they fight for the team by providing protection in front of the back four and adding numbers in attack.

Bafana are high in confidence since they are yet to lose a match under Shakes Mashaba's mentorship. Home skipper, Senzo Meyiwa, has been leading by example in terms of making key saves and marshalling the defence. The defenders haven't put a foot wrong either.

The area of concern for me has been the strike-force. The number of goals scored is not a true reflection of the chances that have been created over the past couple of games. Shakes has made it very clear that he will warn his boys not to take this wounded tiger that has everything to play for lightly. I strongly believe South Africa will win tonight's match and be 4 points clear at the summit.

Mashaba had named an unchanged side, but Thabo Matlaba will miss out due to an injury he sustained at training. Sibusiso Khumalo is set to replace him.
