Anderson wins and Federer not

Kevin Anderson has won his second round match at the Atlanta Open.

Anderson ousted Australian qualifier, Matthew Edben, 6-7 6-2 6-2 on Thursday.

The South African will play Denis Istomin next.

Anderson is the second seed.

Atlanta top seed, John Isner, is also through to the quarter-finals.

Roger Federer has been beaten in the second round of the Swiss Open tennis tournament.

Daniel Brands shocked Federer 6-3 6-4 yesterday.

Federer was the top seed in Gstaad. Brands is 55th in the world rankings.
