Kevin Anderson has continued his charge towards the world top 20, climbing two places to a career-high 21st position in the latest ATP rankings released on Monday.

Kevin Anderson has continued his charge towards the world top 20, climbing two places to a career-high 21st position in the latest ATP rankings released today.

The big-serving South African reached the semifinals of the Claro Open in Colombia last week, where he was ousted by Croatian Ivo Karlovic.

Chanelle Scheepers, the SA women's number one, dropped one place to 69th in the latest WTA ratings list.

Scheepers was eliminated by Elina Svitolina in the second round of the Nurnberger Gastein Ladies tournament in Austria last week.

Bastad tournament winner Serena Williams of the United States retained her commanding lead at the top the latest women's tennis rankings.

Williams has collected 11,705 points, leading Russian Maria Sharapova (9,235 points) and Victoria Azarenka of Belarus (8,825).

After jumping eight spots thanks to her Wimbledon victory, Marion Bartoli of France dropped one spot to eighth with 4,365 points, behind Petra Kvitova of Czech Republic with 4,435 points.

Novak Djokovic of Serbia remained number one men's rankings.

Djokovic topped the unchanged rankings with 12,310 points followed by Wimbledon winner Andy Murray at 9,360.

Spain's David Ferrer is third (7,120) ahead of compatriot Rafael Nadal (6,860) and former number one Roger Federer (5,875).
