Anderson and Scheepers lose early

Kevin Anderson has lost his first round match at the Montreal Masters tennis tournament.

Alexandr Dolgopolov defeated Anderson 7-6 6-4 in Canada yesterday.

John Isner also lost in the first round and this should see Anderson reaching the top 20 in the world rankings next week.

Novak Djokovic is still in contention in Montreal.

Djokovic beat Florian Mayer 6-2 6-1 in second round action last night.

Chanelle Scheepers is out of the Rogers Cup.

Francesca Schiavone ousted Scheepers 2-6 6-3 6-3 in the Toronto first round.
