Amazulu reveal big ambitions

Amazulu want a top four league finish and a cup triumph from head coach, Craig Rosslee, in the coming season.

Rosslee believes Amazulu face stiff competition from wealthier clubs in the transfer market and will have to spend intelligently in pursuit of their targets.

"There are 16 clubs in the Absa Premiership, some very powerful financially, and they attract a certain type of player. We are not one of these clubs and this means we need to do clever business in terms of the players we sign. We also have to make sure that we have a good youth system so that we don't have to buy players," Rosslee said.

Rosslee believes this is a process and that more time is needed for Amazulu to get the necessary structures in place.

"A good wine doesn't come after one season. It takes time and that is what is needed at this club. I hope that I will be allowed to do things over a period of time. The most important thing is to build this club," Rosslee explained.

Rosslee is hoping to make a few more signings out wide. The coach enjoys playing with wide players and believes Usuthu need to invest in quality on the flanks.

Amazulu will open their league campaign against Ajax Cape Town this Sunday.

Usuthu will host the Urban Warriors at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

Kickoff is at 15h00.
