Am has become a vital cog in both the Sharks and the Springbok set-up and has garnered the reputation as one of the best outside centres in the world. Having him back in the Sharks squad for their URC play-off’s will be vital.
The 28 year-old has notched up nineteen Springbok caps to go with his 85 Sharks caps and the coaching staff at the Sharks will be glad that they have the talisman for another three years.
Am adds his name to a long list of players either re-signing with the Sharks or joining the franchise from the outside.
Rohan Janse van Rensberg is one of the most high profile signings the Sharks have made and he along with Lions star Vincent Tshituka, Carlu Sadie and the returning veteran Lionel Cronje will call the Shark Tank home next season.
Scrumhalf Grant Williams along with Reniel Hugo, Anthony Volmink and Dan Bleuler have also recommitted themselves to the Cell C Sharks family going forward.
