A big moment for Mak Dlamini

A big moment for Mak Dlamini

East Coast Radio Sportswave anchor and Breakfast Stack personality, Mak Dlamini, is on the cusp of a new experience.

Mak will be going fishing for the first time in his life tomorrow morning.

Mak has hardly slept all week, despite counting sheep (or maybe fish) into the early hours.

FreeSpooltv have told us that yellowfin tuna and dorado are feeding off Ballito and Mak will be out to break his fishing duck on Friday.

Weekend Sportswave anchor, Alain Tardin, and I will be holding Mak's hand on his big quest.

Alain and I will obviously be hoping that Mak gets all the strikes tomorrow.

Well, maybe not all the strikes.

We are told that conditions will be overcast with very little wind - the ideal deep sea scenario.

Let us hope we all keep our breakfast where it belongs and that our lines will be tight for much of the morning.

We have also heard reports of snoek activity and these may prove a better target for Mak on his virgin trip.

Snoek are lively, but lack the brute power of the bigger tuna and the acrobatic dorado.

Alain is a licensed skipper and I have been deep sea many times.

I hope this means that we will easily handle whatever the ocean produces and that this will free us up to guide Mak to success.

Unless the rookie ends up being the teacher...

We will be shooting a video of the action tomorrow and I guess it well tell the tale of The Big Mak and The Sea.
