3 reasons why Cosmos will be promoted

Moroka Swallows, Black Leopards and Jomo Cosmos find themselves facing a play-off for a place in the Absa Premiership next season.

Swallows finished 15th in the elite league, while Cosmos and Leopards finished second and third respectively in the National First Division.

Leopards coach, Zeca Marques, will face his former team, Swallows, for the first time since getting sacked by the Birds last season.

I think Jomo Cosmos will edge these two sides out and here are my reasons for saying so.

1. Jomo Sono is an experienced campaigner. He knows how to win knockout games. In 2005 he toppled three of the biggest giants in South African football - Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Supersport United - On his way to lifting the Coca Cola Cup. Jomo is a fine strategist and always has a few tricks up his sleeve.

2. Jomo is known for unearthing talent and his boys are still hungry for success. Some people might fancy Swallows to get the better of the NFD teams, but remember that it is experience versus young blood that is nurtured by an experienced coach. The match between Swallows and Cosmos will be a decisive one for me and I see Ezenkosi prevailing.

3. Cosmos are like a closed book to Swallows, while the Dube Birds' weaknesses have been exposed week in and week out all season long. Sono must have noticed some shortcomings he can exploit.
